# Material Group

### Overview

The grouping is usually based on the material classification. For example, if you produce multiple products for a client, such as Tesco, you might want to group these together.

Once set, you can use this class to assign an Material Group to an activity in the [Where](https://help.tillit.cloud/article/157-setting-up-the-activity-template-where) clause.

### Creating a new Material Group

Go to **Settings > Material Definition > Material Groups > Create**

### **Fields**

| Name              | Description                                                   |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Name \***       | Here you will input the name of the group. This is mandatory. |
| **Display Order** | Defines the order sequence for the group in the item list.    |

Click the ***Save and close*** button to finalise.
