# Manually starting

With the Activity Template available, the user can start an activity anytime within the operation cycle. This function is available in the UI header.

To start an activity, click the *Create* button then;

1. Select ***Start Activity*** in the selection list
2. Select the ***Asset*** on where the activity will be used or executed
3. Select the ***Running Order*** in the order list
4. Select the appropriate ***Activity*** to trigger; note that the activity selection list is filtered; showing all the activities defined on the selected asset
5. Click ***Confirm*** to finalise the selection

**Note:**

For users to start any activities, a pre-requisite step of activity definition should be completed first by the admin.
