# Downtime Period

### Overview

Use downtime periods to better define periods of downtime for the asset.

### Create a Downtime Period

Go to ***Settings > Asset Hierarchy > Assets***

Then **select the relevant Asset.** On the asset details page find the **Asset Downtime Period** panel and click to open. Click **Create**.
