### Assigning a Calendar to an Asset

To make use of your shift patterns, you need to assign your calendar to the desired asset.

{% hint style="info" %}
Navigate to **Settings > Asset Hierarchy > Assets**. Then select the relevant **Asset**, locate the **Basic Information panel**.
{% endhint %}

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
Click on the **Calendar field**.

<figure><img src="https://352909507-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FrNT40XJFAFlAhUX8CcQS%2Fuploads%2F8aeuMNMTfsIeMEjQsKg9%2Fimg.png?alt=media&amp;token=0a3605b7-b674-4569-99b2-4fe66948b19c" alt="Line 01&#x22; Asset Basic Information dashboard displaying asset details and the Calendar dropdown field highlighted"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
From the dropdown list, select the desired Calendar for the Asset.

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

When you assign a calendar to an asset, TilliT automatically checks whether a shift would currently be running based on the calendar configuration. If a shift is active at that moment, it starts immediately — you do not need to wait for the next scheduled occurrence.

{% hint style="info" %}
This provides instant feedback so you can confirm your calendar configuration is working as expected right away.
{% endhint %}
