Personnel
The Personnel section of the AI Scheduler is the area where all personnel relating to the Schedule are stored and maintained.
Personnel represent any human resource that needs to be scheduled or is required to perform an Operation or Task.

Create a Personnel instance
Select the Personnel menu item on the left and if no personnel exist, you can choose to create your first personnel instance. If Personnel have already been loaded, you will see a list of Personnel. You can also search and filter on Personnel name and code.

Click on the + button on top of the list and fill in their Code and Name.

Configure your Personnel
Here you can configure your personnel's classes, availability and downtime periods.

Add a Personnel Class
Personnel Classes allow you to group similar personnel types and assign them to operations. A Personnel Class represents a resource specification that appears in your Bill of Personnel for manufacturing products or performing functions.
When you have multiple personnel with the same capabilities, you can assign them all to the same Personnel Class. During scheduling, the system will automatically select any available instance from that class to fulfil the operation.
Example: Your manufacturing facility employs several Operators with varying qualifications. If multiple Operators hold "Senior Operator" certification and can operate the same machine, assign them all to the "Senior Operator" Personnel Class. The scheduling and optimisation system will then select the most appropriate available Operator from this class to fulfil each order.
Key benefits:
Flexibility to use any qualified personnel instance for an operation
Automatic selection of the most suitable person when scheduling
Simplified resource management across multiple personnel with identical capabilities
To create and update Personnel Classes, click on the Manage Classes icon and Add, Update or Delete:

Then you can apply the class to your Personnel by clicking on the + button in their Classes section.

Add Availability
You can also apply Availability Templates to a person to give to assign them to a Shift. If you don't know what an Availability Template is, see Availability.
When applying an Availability to a Person, you need to provide a date range for that shift. A resource can have different shifts at different times, requiring the need to "calendarise" the Availabilities over time.
This may be a rotating shift roster where a person starts on Day Shift, then moves to Afternoon Shift and Night Shift. The start dates and end dates of each Availability assignment are entered manually or integrated from a source system such as a HR or Rostering system.

Add a Downtime Period
Personnel will also likely have Planned Maintenance or Downtimes associated that need to be created to ensure the system does not Schedule Production.
To add a Downtime Period, click on the + button for the Downtime Periods section. Fill in the reason and timestamps for the Downtime.
