# Getting Started

This guide walks through the minimum steps to create a basic scheduling configuration and produce your first schedule. For detailed information on each step, refer to the linked sections.

## Prerequisites

* A location must be selected (click your profile icon > **Select Location**)
* Administrator or Scheduler user role

## Quick Setup Steps

### 1. Create a Data Template

Navigate to ***Scheduler*** > ***Data Templates*** and create a new template. See [Data Templates](/tillit/knowledge-base/scheduler/data-templates.md).

### 2. Create a Material

Add at least one finished goods material. See [Materials](/tillit/knowledge-base/scheduler/data-templates/materials.md).

### 3. Create an Availability Template

Define a shift pattern for your equipment. See [Availability](/tillit/knowledge-base/scheduler/data-templates/availability.md).

### 4. Create Equipment

Add equipment, create an equipment class, assign the class to the equipment, and apply an availability template. See [Equipment](/tillit/knowledge-base/scheduler/data-templates/equipment.md).

{% hint style="warning" %}
If integrating with TilliT Digital Operations, ensure equipment names match between Scheduler and DO.
{% endhint %}

### 5. Create an Operation

Add an operation with a route and segment. Configure the segment with equipment and material requirements, and set a run rate. See [Operations](/tillit/knowledge-base/scheduler/data-templates/operations.md).

### 6. Create an Order

Navigate to ***Scheduler*** > ***Planned Orders*** and create an order with at least one order item. See [Planned Orders](/tillit/knowledge-base/scheduler/planned-orders.md).

### 7. Create and Open a Scenario

Navigate to ***Scheduler*** > ***Scenario***, create a new scenario, and optionally mark it as **Live**. Move it to **Published** status, then open it. See [Scenarios](/tillit/knowledge-base/scheduler/scenario.md).

### 8. Add Orders and Schedule

1. Click the **+** button in the scheduling view to open the Orders Store.
2. Select your order and click **Add**.
3. Drag and drop the order from the Unscheduled Orders grid onto the Gantt chart.

See [Scheduling](/tillit/knowledge-base/scheduler/scheduling.md).

### 9. Release to Digital Operations (Optional)

If integrating with DO, right-click the order on the Gantt chart and click the lightning icon to release it. See [Execution](/tillit/knowledge-base/scheduler/execution.md).
